Ethos

Where law, neuroscience, and underground music converge.

Sync Primitive Recording Company was founded on a simple observation: the mechanisms that compel human movement on a dancefloor are not arbitrary. They are governed by the same principles that govern neural synchronization, signal processing, and distributed systems architecture.

We operate at the intersection of three disciplines: law — the frameworks that govern creative output and intellectual property; neuroscience — the study of how rhythmic patterns trigger neurochemical cascades in the listener; and underground electronic music — the laboratory where these principles are tested at 130 BPM.

Based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, we are a recording company, a research collective, and a cultural infrastructure project. Every release, event, and educational initiative we produce is an investigation into the fundamental question: why does this work?

Raul Lee Bhaskaran

Law · Technology · Neuroscience · Music

Raul Lee Bhaskaran founded Sync Primitive as the operational arm of a larger thesis — that the future of underground music lies in understanding its deepest mechanisms, not just its surface aesthetics.

A practising lawyer and co-founder of Art x Law Initiative Malaysia (ALIM), Raul works at the intersection where intellectual property law, artist rights, and creative practice converge — ensuring the frameworks that govern music are as well-understood as the music itself.

Through aliases Cliff Coffin and Whitechick, Raul investigates these mechanisms directly — translating computational and neurological concepts into visceral dancefloor experiences.

We don't just release tracks.
We investigate the frameworks that compel movement.
